Las Vegas – Undefeated lightweight prospect Anthony Peterson (27-0, 19 KO’s) won a unanimous decision over the highly experienced Fernando Trejo (30-13, 18 KO’s) in the main event of a fight night held at the Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The official scores tallied at 120 – 108 (twice) and 118 – 109. The Boxing Herald scored the bout 119 - 110
Peterson tactically won rounds over Trejo while making his own sound effects each time he threw a punch. Peterson was in control from bell to bell, but only opened up with flurries during select moments throughout the fight for a few seconds at a time.
Peterson outlanded his opponent 296 / 918 (32%) compared to 157 / 892 (18%). With the loss, Trejo dropped his second consecutive fight.
In the semi-final bout of the night, undefeated Junior Middleweight Vanes Matirosyan (20-0, 13 KO’s) won a lopsided unanimous decision over former world title challenger Angel Hernandez (28-6, 16 KO’s). The official judges scorecards were 100-89 three times for Matirosyan. The Boxing Herald agreed scoring the fight 100-89 in favor of Matirosyan.
Matirosyan dropped Hernandez with a right uppercut in round 1 and landed at will for most of the fight, at time rocking Hernandez with numerous left hooks and uppercuts.
